Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Shower

On Sunday my mom went above and beyond (love you mom!) and threw me a bridal shower. I'm gonna confess right now that I had no idea that was even thing. I've never been to one before and I wasn't sure what to expect. Apparently it's just a good excuse for a bunch of ladies to get together, day drink, eat cake, and open wildly inappropriate gifts:

In other words, a great time ;) My mom had a diy bingo where everyone wrote down which specific gifts they thought I'd get which made present opening really interactive and fun. And speaking of all the gifts, I got so spoiled. Originally I was anti-gift registering because we've been living together for awhile and we already have most things we need. But then I walked around Target with one of those scanner things and suddenly I had one of everything in the Target housewares section on my list. Funny how that works out. We wound up with quite a few home items, some honeymoon luggage, and lingerie. So much lingerie.

My aunt, a gift wrapping artist, turned all my bows into a bouquet for me to carry down the aisle during the rehearsal. This is yet another tradition I was completely in the dark about, but thankfully my lovely friends and relatives have my back with all this wedding stuff.

A huge thanks to everyone for coming out and precelebrating our wedding. Can't believe we're only 24 days away from the big day!

  2. Well when there is cake and lingerie you just go with it! Was there a p*nis cake? It isn't inappropriate without a p*nis cake too. The valet guys really got a kick out of that at my friend's bach party. I don't think I've ever been to a bridal shower though.

  3. What a fun time!!! I always go the safe route with these kinds of parties and buy something cute, but classy. I'm too embarrassed to purchase anything else. ha.

  4. I have never heard of the bow-bouquet. How cute! Day drinking & innaproriate gifts describes bridal showers perfectly haha.

I thought the same thing about the registry. I kept telling my Mom I didn't need it and I would have nothing to register for. Boy, was I wrong. Once you get that scanner in your hand it's like you can't stop.
