THE HELL... |
is THAT??!? |
Yesterday Joe took a mid-week day off of work and the weather was below 90 for the first time in as long as I can remember, so we took the opportunity for a little fair fun. Aka, lots of fried goodness, lots of people and animal watching, and lots of small-talk about how Ezzy is the cutest baby to ever exist. Ok, I may have embellished that last part, but there were a lots of convos about his cuteness. Especially toward the end of the day, when Ezzy fell asleep leaning sideways in his carrier. Joe and I joked that it felt like one of those nightmares where you're walking along all unassuming and suddenly realize everyone is pointing and laughing at you. Apparently none of the exhibits at the fair could compare to a sleeping baby.
A few highlights of our day included:
- The super-cute caricature of us as beach bunnies.
- Ezzy learning the new sounds: "Mmmm" and "Hmmm" after hearing us exclaim over all the yummy food all day.
- Speaking of food, we sampled all sorts of deliciousness, including fried avocado and a giant maple donut.
- Watching Ezzy and a horse get to know each other. They both seemed equally fascinated by the other. The horse kept sticking his head between the bars to sniff Ezzy's legs and Ezzy gave him a few pats on his nose. Too cute.
- Seeing a baby cow right after it had been born. Like literally RIGHT after. It was still covered in amniotic goo and everything. The baby lambs and piglets were pretty darn cute too.
- Our number one favorite moment was when Ezzy and I fed a pair of camels. I was too busy feeding the camels to notice Ezzy's face, but his expression was pretty priceless. Joe describes it as "mortified what-the-helledness." If you check out the trio of pictures above, I'd say that pretty much sums it up.
- Oh, and if you've ever wandered what tortoise love looks/sounds like, check out this video Joe took (called: Turtles Doing It At The County Fair): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbwrVG4ToAQ
Also, as a fun lil tidbit, the last time we went to the fair to see Karmin, and I had just found out I was pregnant. We hadn't even shared the news yet. So Karmin was technically Ezzy's first concert.
