25 Week Bump Update - Baby #2

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

This week I'm feeling big and winded. Bras, hills, and anything I have to pick up off the floor are my enemies. Since I don't plan on giving up ice cream anytime soon, I'm still forcing myself to walk or hike, either outdoors or on the treadmill. Joe and I managed to take 35,000 steps over the weekend. I made up for it by sitting around, avoiding the heat as much as possible on Monday ;)

The beginning stages of nesting are definitely setting in. Ez's changing table wasn't holding up too well after two moves, and with them sharing a room it made more sense spatially to get a dresser and put a changing pad on top. We went with this one from IKEA. We've also been on the hunt for a new bed for Ez. So far we're still deciding on whether we want to bother with a toddler bed, or go straight for a twin-sized or even a bunk bed. I'm leaning more toward one of the latter options, as long as I don't have to assemble it.

Here's Ez helping build his baby bro's dresser:
Mini Thor
Gotta love his enthusiasm!

Cravings are still more of the same: salads, lemonade, and ice cream, which probably has a lot to do with the heat. Also See's chocolate chip eggs are back and I've already gotten my hands on them. Love those things!

Baby is moving all kinds these days, yet somehow Joe still hasn't felt a really good kick. He seems to have a calming effect on baby, while Ez is pretty good at getting his bro riled up. Signs of things to come, I'm sure. Joe has seen my belly move though. It's kinda weird that we're at that stage already. I actually had a dream that I could see an imprint of the baby's face through my belly, and I kept trying to show Joe but he never looked up in time. Kinda hoping baby doesn't actually do that cause it was a little creepy. Like he was trying to gnaw his way out of my belly.

Here's me at 25 weeks with Ez vs. now:

  1. You look great! And good for you for getting out and staying healthy. That's a great example to me! I'm at 39 weeks and trying to still be motivated to stay active.

  2. You look beautiful! You are over halfway, which is so exciting! I love your little guy getting to work. Enjoy your pregnancy (if you can), I miss having a baby growing in my belly sometimes. It has been over 3 years since I had my last, and I wish I tried to relish the moments just a little more. You are doing a incredible thing, growing a person!

    1. Thank you! That's a good reminder, I feel like I haven't been relishing this pregnancy very much. I either forget I'm pregnant altogether, or I feel way too pregnant (if that makes sense).

  3. I love that dresser, I almost went with it but decided to play it safe with a darker, espresso one. You look great btw... I had no energy throughout any of my pregnancy so kudos to you!!

    1. Thank you! I actually have the same dresser in my bedroom, so I already knew I'd love it. If it came in a darker color, we probably would've went that route though.

  4. Looking fab!! We skipped the toddler bed and went straight for the twin bed, babe is still in his crib atm but the twin bed is in the room as well and makes for great extra guest space for now :)

    1. Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, it'd be nice to have a twin size bed for guests, especially since I'm sure people will want to come visit once the new babe is here :)

  5. My little brother does the same thing! He always has to help daddy with building. He has his own tool box and everything.
