Our East Coast trip was all about family time, and one of the sweetest things was watching Ez meet his grandpa and oma for the first time. Grandparent relationships are so special, and I really want Ez to have a close relationship with all of his grandparents, so it warmed my heart to see the grandparents immediately get on the ground to play catch and trains and cars with him. Normally Ez takes awhile to warm up to strangers, but he took to them right away, like he'd known them his whole life. My dad was chasing him around the house and lifting him up in the air like he was still a young sprightly man. Ez even fell asleep in their arms a few times over the weekend, which he never does, so that just shows how comfortable he was with them. Not to mention how worn out he was from the constant playing.
No more letting 2+ years go by between trips! We're already looking forward to our next visit :)
So nice you get to visit with your family. It must be so hard to be so far away from them during the year.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the photo of your dad on the floor with Ez! That's so sweet! What a great visit. I swear kids know when a person who comes over or they meet is family. Callie has always warmed up to her grandparents right away. Even my MIL whom she's only seen 6 times her whole life. But she knows she's family and now that she can talk she knows "red nana" is daddy's mom. It's so sweet to watch the grandparents.
ReplyDeleteOh these pictures kill me! What a sweet, sweet meeting!! It looks like he absolutely loved his time with them!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that is incredible that he was totally chill with them right away. Aria is so wary of strangers too. Love this!
