Date Night

Last Friday Joe and I got all dressed up and fancy to go to a gala that his company helped organize. I don't remember the last time I got so dressed up, but it was probably pre-Ez. The gala was held at the Park Plaza Hotel in LA and everything was gorgeous. There was an open bar which was completely wasted on us. I did drink my fill of cranberry-sprites though. Yay... We stayed and mingled for about an hour, made sure to say hello to all of Joe's bosses, and then we left and got dinner at a vegan restaurant near our house. It turns out fancy isn't really our thing. Even though we skipped out on the gala, we had a great kid-free evening just catching up and talking about random stuff that wasn't completely related to Ez.

And then we went home, put on pjs, and got to cuddle with this little goober:
The best of both worlds.

  1. Oh, love this! It's fun getting all dressed up every now and then, but I agree that I usually can't wait to kick my heels off and snuggle on the couch with the little ones.

  6. When we go out on dates, we are always home so early. Usually C is in bed but we never really take full advantage of having a sitter.

  7. Yay for a date night and you guys look so fancy all dressed up! And even better are comfy clothes after! We always try to get home right after a sitter puts Callie to bed so we can enjoy an night alone but still get some much needed sleep! Oh and we're not paying the sitter to watch my kid sleep haha!

  8. haha, I'm with you. It is sorta fun to go fancy but only for a short short time, and then taking it off is even better. But it is nice to have a kid free evening too, then cuddles at home!

  9. Fancy isn’t really our thing, either. I love your dress and that picture of you two in front of the tree is amazing!! And isn’t it nice to just have adult conversation and an uninterrupted dinner every once in a while? I love my boy and being with him 24/7, but hubby time is nice too!!

  10. I agree, it's nice to have adult conversations without littles running around. That dress is so pretty! I prefer pajamas myself lol!
