Happy 2015!

I love brand new years and fresh starts. I'm sure just like most of you I have goals to be healthier and more organized, get more done, blah blah. Not that those goals aren't important and shouldn't be shared, I just find from personal experience that when I go overboard on the goals and make them complicated, most of them don't happen. So instead I'm sticking with the simplicity of last year's resolution and choosing one word/phrase that I want to sum up this year.

Last year I chose the word "enjoy" and enjoy 2014 I did. From Ez's 1st birthday party to Father's Day in Sequoia to our birthday weekend in San Francisco we had a lot of fun adventures. Of course there was also Disneyland, our trip to the East coast, and the holidays which we fortunate enough to share with our family. And then there were the big, life-changing moments: we bought a house, and a car, and we shared some pretty big news with y'all.

2014 was great, and I have no complaints. However, as much as I enjoyed all these big moments, I think I could use some work enjoying and being present in the little moments. Which brings me to my goal for 2015: to be intentional about how I spend my time. I am stealing this verbatim from the lovely blogger Jessica over at Mission Healthy Happy Life. I had been searching for a goal that could sum up all my other goals and make my resolutions focused and simple, and when I read her word of the year (which is focus) I realized that phrase was exactly what I was looking for. I'll have a lot more time for working out, reading, writing, and intentional play time with Ez if I remove the mindless distractions that currently take up way too much time. Who knows? Maybe my house will even get (and stay) clean! (A girl can dream...)

Thank you for following along on all our 2014 adventures, big and small. I wish you all the happiest and healthiest 2015!

  6. Happy New Year! I told Chris my goal was to drink more. Focus is pretty good too. I think Aria's resolution or goal should be sleep better.
